Trans & Queer Service Center
The Marie Equi Center
Portland’s new Trans and Queer Supportive Services Center
Our Grand Opening is on October 11th from 4p-7p! Follow this link for more details.
Located in Portland’s Brooklyn Neighborhood, our mission is to enrich the health of the trans, queer, intersex, and gender diverse communities through trauma-informed care, culturally specific services, and social justice advocacy. All of our services are specifically designed to serve and support unhoused and low-income LGBTQAI2S+ people.
Available Services:
Peer Support and Recovery: Gender and culturally affirming peer support with our team of certified Community Health Workers and Certified Recovery Mentors.
Harm Reduction and Health Education: Workshops, narcan, and other supplies for harm reduction and preventive care.
Services and Systems Navigation: Our dedicated team of peer workers assist community members with accessing healthcare, gender affirming providers, health insurance, food stamps, and social services.
Housing Retention and Advocacy: Peer workers support individuals in maintaining housing stability and navigating the transition from being unhoused to housed.
Skill Sharing and Empowerment: Our new Center will be hosting and co-hosting a variety of workshops, skill shares, and community building events to help with personal and professional growth and connection.
Computer Access: We have three computers available for our guests to use
Mail: We are set up to receive mail for those who don’t currently have a physical address
Services Coming in 2025:
Hygiene Services: ADA/gender neutral shower and laundry service. Once we are able to build up a robust team of volunteers to support with accessing shower and laundry, we will open our hygiene services to our guests. Interested in volunteering?
Inclement Weather Shelter: We have room to provide shelter for unhoused LGBTQAI2S+ folks during times of inclement weather. We are actively working with the Joint Office of Homeless Services to build our capacity for this service.

Thanks to our wonderful partners at Gensler who worked in collaboration with the Equi Team, The Marie Equi Center has been intentionally designed with a trauma-informed, disability justice, and neurodivergent friendly lens. We wanted this “first of its kind in the region” space to provide comfort, safety, and connection for every guest that walks through the door.
